Mission Statement

GFWC -Contemporary Women of North County (CWONC)- today's volunteer. The primary goal of CWONC is to contribute to the betterment of our community. GFWC (General Federation of Women's Clubs) encourages all member clubs to participate in one or all of the following six suggested service departments: Arts, Conservation, Education, HomeLife, International Outreach or Public Issues.

Description

The GFWC Contemporary Women of North County was re-organized in 1999 from three local Junior Women's clubs: Escondido, San Marcos and Vista. The oldest of these clubs was founded in 1935. CWONC is part of a world wide women's organization called the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC). Our membership benefits include friendship, involvement and knowledge. Our favorite fundraiser is volunteering at the San Diego County Fair and the International Beer Festival. . Our fun and friendship events include potlucks, movie nights, going to the theater, hikes and a Fall retreat. We are looking for new members come join us!

I am so glad to be a part of this fantastic volunteer group! They have a variety of projects available in our community. Members are free to choose which project they would like to work on, and there is no minimum requirement for participation. The hours are very flexible, which is important to me. I would definitely recommend this organization!

What a great group of women! There are so many volunteer activites with CWONC as well as fun things to do with the club members. They are all so nice.

This is a great group of women who are making a difference in the community. There are many ways you can volunteer your time and talents for women, children, military, elderly, and animals just to name a few. There is no minimum time that you have to spend on projects and you can pick and choose what you want to do. There are social events as well so it is a good way to meet new people while volunteering. Come and give us a try!
