Mission Statement

St. Mary's Child Center serves children with developmental, learning or emotional problems, or who are at-risk for having such problems. Our mission is to provide these children with the opportunity to reach their potential. We will support and work with families in this effort. Our mission is rooted in reverence for life and the recognition of the dignity of the personal and family regardless of race, creed or income.

Description

St. Mary's Child Center's nationally accredited Early Childhood Program provides high-quality educational and family services for low-income, disadvantaged three to five year old children. These children are seriously at-risk for life-long learning and emotional problems. We provide a developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum while paying special attention to emotional and behavioral issues facing the children and their families. The challenges of our children and families are addressed through: expert staff, low adult-child ratio (1:4) and play therapy as well as intensive support, mentoring and education for families through our home visiting program and social work services.
