Mission Statement

Transforming the neglected, abused, unwanted, and abandoned into the loved, sheltered, happy, and content.

Description

Rabbit & Small Animal Rescue is a small no-kill, all volunteer run rescue group that provides shelter and care for homeless, abandoned, abused and neglected "pocket" type pets. Each animal is treated with respect and is provided a spacious habitat while they are in temporary volunteer foster homes through Rabbit & Small Animal Rescue. We strive to educate the public about these pets and the plight of all homeless animals. We support sterilization of rabbits and small pets and advocate the responsible handling, feeding, and housing of these special pets. We screen all adopters to ensure safe, loving, and permanent homes for our rescued animals.

I love this little pet rescue. I have fostered for them and have participated in the Carson's Community Days fund raiser. I love that RASAR is no kill and their dedication to matching pets to the right home. I have made friends working this event and I have gotten to know some of the special needs pets. It is people and animals working together. Plus this little rescue helps find the pocket pets a home while most rescue groups are cat and dog.

It’s hard to find pet rescue charity that is truly no-kill and willing to help all of the animals it can regardless of the animals “retail value” compared to the huge costs to help it. This rescue truly does that and I absolutely loved being able to handle some of these very special rescue animals at the fundraiser - especially Marie, the little bunny that had a broken back and the rescue rehabilitated and then obtained a wheelchair for! And the other volunteers cared just as much as I did for the cause. I’ve never had so much fun while fundraising for a charity as I have for this one. Having the pets right there and being able to tell their stories was easy and I feel my volunteering really did make a difference!
