Mid City Redevelopment Alliance, Inc

As the first not-for-profit organization in Baton Rouge created to address the challenges of a specific geographic region, Mid City Redevelopment Alliance has established itself as the most dynamic and successful community development organization in our city.

At the heart of the mission of Mid City Redevelopment Alliance (MCRA) is the belief that the future of our entire community is dependent on the health and vitality of our urban center. Critical to everything MCRA does is the recognition that our Mid City community is filled with tangible assets that must be recognized and supported. MCRA has three main areas in which we focus on: affordable housing, community development, and economic development.

MCRA consist of several programs including a Home Ownership Center (H.O.C.). The H.O.C is a "one stop shop" that provides homebuyer services free of charge and offers five tracks of service for clients:

  1. Homebuyer Rediness Training
  2. Homebuyer Training
  3. Home Purchase
  4. Financial Education
  5. Foreclosure Prevention.
Other MCRA programs consist of FIXUP! Mid City, NeighborGrants, Tool Lending Program and FACELIFT! Mid City.
