American Field Service New Mexico Area team

Invite the World Home This summer more than 2,400 high school AFS Exchange Students from around the world will arrive. Would you share your home and daily life with one of these students for the school year or semester? Add an international branch to your family tree by hosting an AFS high school exchange student! AFS (formerly the American Field Service) has been a leader in the field of student exchange for more than 55 years. More than 11,000 families host exchange students with AFS every year. These remarkable teens will arrive in late summer, eager to learn about our America. Hosting with AFS is a way for all kinds of families--married or single parents with or without children--to have an international experience without leaving home. We also have opportunities to be "Aunts" and "Uncles" for the students, as well as a wide range of volunteer positions, such as helping with community events, serving as liaisons for host families and students, or making high school presentations. Taking part in the AFS mission of improving international understanding is something American families can do for themselves, their communities, and the world. For more information about hosting, please contact (local name) at (local phone) or (email). AFS was founded by volunteer American Field Service ambulance drivers from World Wars I and II who believedà  à  à  à  à  à  à  à ¢à  à  à  à  ?à  à  à  à  ?as AFS believes todayà  à  à  à  à  à  à  à ¢à  à  à  à  ?à  à  à  à  ?that the way to build a more just and peaceful world begins when people from different countries meet, learn about each other, and begin to understand each other.
