Mission Statement

Children Uniting Nations is a progressive voice for children at risk, with a primary focus on children in out of home care. We believe that every child has the right to a permanent, caring adult in his or her life. We believe that it is the imperative responsilbity of our community to ensure a better quality of life for our most vulnerable children.

CUN is dedicated to providing quality mentoring relationships based on academic achievement for children at risk. CUN strives to recruit and train community volunteers to service foster youth through its program(s) Mentoring Partnership for Los Angeles Youth Program (mPLAY). mPLAY seeks to create and support quality-mentoring both academically and relationship based for foster care youth. This is accomplished by reducing barriers between volunteer mentors and foster youth by creating systematic mechanisms that allow easier and safer access to serving youth in out-of-home care. CUN has been the catalyst to recruiting thousands of mentors who then provide on going emotional and educational support to thousands of foster youth throughout Los Angeles County.

The people are all very helpful when meeting the kids. They have fun games to play in order for everyone to get to know eachother. I've been mentoring for over a year and it has been a gift to spend time with the kids. I love all the experiences we have shared.

This is a great program for a great cause...The staff are incredibly nice and truly dedicated to helping children. They also have an one-event called Day of the Child that I go to every year...
