Description

4 the World On Education

Education

Teachers - Great teachers can do incredible things - not just for students, but for entire communities. We believe educators are the foundation for an empowered community, and aim to provide them with the resources necessary to greater serve their communities.

Students - Regardless of how great the educators may be, many children in our target communities may not have the opportunity to even attend. Education always has a cost, and we aim to provide students with scholarship opportunities that allow children to begin or continue their education to become an empowered member of the community.

Infrastructure - Some of the largest issues facing education systems today are facilities and access to technology. We aim to provide students and educators with a safe learning environment, while also providing them with the modern technology needed for collaborative and progressive learning.

4 the World is an amazing organization! I co-founded a chapter at my university, NC State, and have made so many friends through the club. Not only did we volunteer locally, but we also raised money for places like a women's shelter in Belize, and the construction of a new school in Guatemala. 4 the World is a great way to strengthen your passion for service and learn how to be a leader and face obstacles. Though running a club can be challenging, it's also created some of my best college memories and taught me what I can accomplish. These volunteers are like a second family to me, and you can't find that just anywhere.

4 The World is one of the best non-profit organizations around! All of the Directors are very humble people with their hearts in the right place. The change that 4 The World has made in Belize and Guatemala is outstanding! I have personally seen women and children become strong and independent individuals with the efforts of 4 The World and other villagers. I will personally recommend everyone to volunteer on the excursions offered! 4 The World will continue to grow and impact others around the world for the better!

As an NCSU student and current intern with 4 the World I have been amazed and incredibly impressed by the work that 4 the World is doing for those in need both in North Carolina and around the world. As a small, volunteer-run nonprofit the work that this organization has been able to accomplish, especially in such hard economic times, only goes to show the importance and need for its continued work and support. I would recommend this organzation to anyone who wants to get involved in a cause greater than themselves that is truly doing everything that its mission calls for, and more.

4 the World is a very dynamic group of people pursuing the improvement of education and living conditions in 3rd world countries. Keith Froom, their executive director and founder, works selflessly in pursuit of these goals. I would recommend this group to anyone interested in making a difference!
