You CAN make a difference in this world!
By nurturing an orphaned baby or an abandoned child, teaching conversational English to a teenager, helping to construct a new school, providing direct patient care, or helping to develop a community to self-sufficiency, you will experience another culture.
Serve in one of over 100 communities worldwide, including Appalachia, the Blackfeet Indian Reservation and immigrant communities in the USA.
Our volunteers work under the direction of local leaders and alongside local people on full-day, ethical projects. All programs strictly follow IRS guidelines for tax-deductibility for U.S. tax payers. Experienced country managers and team leaders handle the day-to-day arrangements so you can freely serve on the work project.
Wage peace by contributing to international understanding and respect. Feel proud in giving back to your global community.
You can choose one-week to 40-week service opportunities ranging from $995 to $2,995. These fees support the on-going work projects, and cover your meals, lodging, transportation in country, an experienced team leader, materials for the work project and administrative expenses. Airfare to the host community (also tax-deductible) and free-time costs are extra. No specific professional skills or previous travel or language experience is required. We invite you to speak with our volunteer coordinators (1-800-487-1074) or visit our website at www.globalvolunteers.org to learn more!
Partners in Development (TM)
Founded in 1984, Global Volunteers' goal is to provide genuine development assistance to local communities worldwide through the service of short-term volunteers. Working in close partnership with host organizations, we promote peace and justice by uniting people on volunteer programs that provide a long-lasting, positive and ethical community impact.
How do we do this? Global Volunteers is a private, non-profit, non-sectarian international human and economic development assistance organization founded and managed by development professionals. In consultative status with the United Nations and UNICEF, we work in partnership with more than 200 local organizations worldwide.
We mobilize teams of short-term volunteers year-around to assist long-term local projects, and support our host partners with service programs focused on at-risk children and their families, direct work project funding, classroom sponsorships and student scholarships.
