The Colorado Life-sharing Community Initiative (CLCI) offers a true sense of community for individuals with special needs, coworkers, and volunteers learning from each other in a process of shared interest.
CLCI offers respite care, day programming and residential opportunities for adults with disabilities. CLCI's residential program features life-sharing homes in which household members share daily life as companions and live near other life-sharing households in the local neighborhood, enjoying a lifetime connection as friends and neighbors. These homes, where 2 - 3 individuals with special needs live together with dedicated individuals seeking to build intential community, provide an environment of safety, harmony and life-long learning. Participants in our Day Program may live elsewhere, but join the residents for day activities or job support. Social and cultural events, celebrations, volunteer opportunities, jobs at local businesses and inclusion in local community events and educational and recreational opportunities will unite the CLCI residents with local residents, cultivating a lively interaction with the community-at-large.Creative work opportunities in local businesses, CLCI craft shops, bio-dynamic gardens and domestic arts will give each person the satisfaction of meaningful work. Respite care takes place in CLCI life-sharing homes and those individuals join in the daily home life activities and opportunities provided through our Day Program.
CLCI programs emphasize self-advocacy and support health, personal growth, purposeful employment, and a vibrant sense of well-being for all. A respect for all life is inherent in our philosophy and we are active environmental stewards committed to recyling, green building, alternative energy, resource conservation and organic gardening. And CLCI is here for people's long term futures!
CLCI programs reflect the values and long experience of the world-renowned Camphill Organization, providing a truly inclusive life-style in society-at-large.
Well-being, empowerment and capacity-building for individuals with special needs are at the heart of our work.
