Our clients do not drive and rely on others to be able to leave their homes and go to appointments, get groceries, and do other errands. Volunteer drivers and clients follow the most recent CDC and local guidelines for Covid. Volunteer drivers help individuals 60 and older to remain independent and age in their own homes. Be a volunteer driver and help your senior neighbors get to doctor appointments, grocery stores, libraries, beauty salons, etc. Volunteers also needed to complete handyman tasks, help with light yard work, and make phone calls and visits to those more lonely. Senior Access utilizes three 14 passenger vans to take our clients on fixed-route trips to their local HEB, Walmart, Target, and other shopping locations. We are looking for volunteer Van Buddies who can assist our Van Drivers in helping clients in and out of our vans, loading and unloading groceries in the van, and carrying the groceries to the client's door. Socializing with the clients is welcome. This person needs to be healthy and somewhat strong. The van is taller than usual cars and it is sometimes difficult to load and unload the groceries. Fixed-route shopping days are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The ideal volunteer will be able to commit to a specified day each week or each month, for example, every Tuesday or each 2nd Tuesday of every month. We require everyone to wear a mask and the number of maximum riders may vary depending on the Covid Stage in Travis County.

Help FEED our senior neighbors once a month! On the second Friday of each month, the Round Rock Serving Center offers HOPE PACKAGES to our senior clients in need. This is a once a month, 2-3 hours commitment. Our long time volunteer who has been taking care of DELIVERING about 16 packages to about 7 different locations, will be relocating out of state come February.
