We envision a harmonious coexistence of the urban community and the natural environment created around the lake.

Friends ofLakeNokomis' mission is:

  • To preserve and improve the lake and its surrounding parks and watershed to ensure a safe, enjoyable and sustainable natural resource for future generations
  • To engage the community through education and programs that advocate a healthy balance between urban living and protecting a natural resource
  • To promote the lake through partnerships with other local organizations and city, county and state policymakers
