Volunteer Activities: Works on tasks assigned by the Property Management Committee work includes cleanup of grounds, raking leaves, flower bed clean up, pressure washing Complete ongoing and seasonal tasks as needed Keep the tool storage area clean and organized. Keep all equipment clean Use all tools properly and have repaired any that need it. Requirements: Upholds goals and vision of Northshore Senior Center. Able to stand for long periods of time and also lift at least 35 pounds. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Report monthly volunteer hours. Purpose/Objective: Contribute to providing a healthy meal for seniors and people with disabilities. Location: Northshore Senior Center or Northshore Health and Wellness Center Kitchen, Bothell WA Time Commitment: 1 day a week, Monday-Friday, Choose your Day and Time: Community Dining Kitchen Food Prep, Service, Clean Up: Monday: 8:00am-11:00am or 11:00am-2:00pm. Tuesday: 11:00am-2:00pm, Wednesday: 8:00-11:00am or 8:30am-10:30am or 1:00am-2:00pm, Thursday: 8:00am-11:00am Friday: 11:00am-2:00pm Northshore Adult Day Center and Health and Wellness Kitchen Food Prep, Service, Clean Up: Monday-Friday 10:00am-1:30pm. Choose your day! Tuesday, Thursday, Friday-Priority Location: Northshore Senior Center Adult Day Health Kitchen, Bothell WA: Time Commitment: Various Shifts Available; One day a week, Key Responsibilities: Cook organizes and assigns tasks, assists in cooking. Pack meals and prepare packets for food delivery. Food Prep people assist in preparing the food according to proper health food guidelines and as assigned by the cook. All kitchen volunteers help with making sure all tasks are done and the kitchen is clean and organized at the end of the shift. Report monthly volunteer hours. If you need to miss a volunteer time, arrange for another trained volunteer to take that particular time. Work with the leader to be sure everything is done accurately. Qualifications: Able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds. Basic kitchen skills: cutting vegetable, cooking meats are a plus, but not a requirement. Must be friendly and hospitable. Must have current food handlers permit and submit a copy to Northshore Senior Center. Complete volunteer application, sign a volunteer agreement and authorize a background check. (These items will be completed prior to starting.) Training/Support Provided: One-on-one individual training provided. This training will be provided by an experienced volunteer, as assigned. Volunteer as front desk receptionist greeting visitors and welcoming them to the center. Answer the telephone & assist with necessary office tasks, provide personal attention on occasion (i.e. conversation, walking new members to classes), provide tours of the center, take payment for classes or registration/renewals. These programs are designed for individuals who are experiencing intellectual disabilities and the early stages of dementia. Choose your day and program! Inclusion Program: Bowling at Kenmore Lanes; Mondays: 2:30PM-4:30PM Adult Day Health Program: Tuesdays at NSC Health and Wellness Center Bothell; Tuesdays 9:30AM-1:30PM Focus is on improving overall quality of life, health and increasing brain fitness. Volunteers assist with activities and programing at Kenmore Lanes, or our Health & Wellness Center. Volunteer will help individuals with exercise, lunch, games, music, and activities at our Bothell Health & Wellness Center Qualifications: Must be friendly, patient and hospitable and comfortable working with individuals with disabilities. Good people skills Must complete a volunteer application and a background check will be completed before volunteering role begins. Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
