Mission Statement

"The mission of Louisiana Delta Service Corps, Inc. is to provide opportunities for citizens to give sustained, meaningful service as a right and responsibility of citizenship; and to meet the critical educational, human, environmental and public safety needs of the Delta region. The Louisiana Delta Service Corps, Inc. will achieve its mission by partnering with schools, faith-based and non-profit organizations to recruit, train and place citizens for one to two terms of volunteer service."

Description

We are a multi-site AmeriCorps National Service National Direct program. Members are placed with non-profit agencies in their local community where they serve full time for eleven months in exchange for a small stipend plus money for college. Members receive leadership training and learn teamwork skills during their 1700 hours of service. Most of all, each member is involved in a community project designed especially for them.
