As an independent, non-profit 199-bed medical center in Southeast Los Angeles County, Downey Regional Medical Center has applied the latest technology for more than 80 years. Specialized care is provided by DRMC through its Emergency Care Center, Family Birth Center, Heart Center, Out-patient Surgical Center and main OR, as well as Senior, Rehabilitation and Home Health services. Senior Care Resources provide health fairs, lectures, health information and screenings specifically targeted for seniors. In addition, DRMC hosts numerous support groups, community education classes and other outreach events for people of all ages. Ranked as one of the 10 best hospitals in Los Angeles County, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the gold standard for healthcare quality and safety and the most respected accrediting body for healthcare providers, validates this reputation.
