Hundreds of volunteers work together in Iowa to help carry out the Red Cross mission of helping people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. The American Red Cross not only provides for the immediate needs of families affected by disaster, but also hosts blood drives to assist with one of the nation's largest blood procurement process and trains our friends and neighbors in the lifesaving skills of CPR/AED and First Aid. The American Red Cross continues to evolve and improve to meet the demands of Iowa residents, as well as the nation.

Mission Statement

The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. It does this through services that are consistent with its congressional charter and the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross movement.
