The mission of Eugene Sunday Streets is to promote a healthy, active, lifestyle. Eugene Sunday Streets is an event that will bring the community together in a fun, inclusive way opening the streets for people to walk, bike, skate, and/or dance in a safe, car-free environment

Description

Eugene Sunday Streets is a FREE community event that rolls into Eugene every summer and is brought to you by the City of Eugene.

The event features about 3 miles of a traffic-free streets that open for people to walk, bike and roll, connecting Eugene neighborhoods. There are Activity Centers at three of Eugene’s beautiful City parks that host FREE fitness classes, dancing, yoga, slacklining, live music and much more!

Last summer was the 5 th annual Eugene Sunday Streets event contributing the record number of participants, over 7,100!

Eugene Sunday Streets is excited to announce the neighborhoods for the 2016 events. This will increase the outreach to varying neighborhoods throughout Eugene and support our goal of an increased focus on bicycle and pedestrian safety.

The first Sunday Streets event will take place Sunday July 31 st in Downtown Eugene. The route will; revisit last year’s success in highlighting Broadway to Monroe Park and feature the revitalization of downtown and our city’s open spaces. The second full event will be on September 25 th in the South University Neighborhood, mark your calendars!
