Mission Statement

Hands For Africa provides innocent victims of civil wars in Africa with the tools that allow them to be self-reliant. We provide immediate needs such as food, water, clothing and shelter while developing and implementing successful programs that foster self-reliance, thereby creating a community of self-reliant individuals capable of supporting themselves and their families without handouts. Hands For Africa future plans is to implement the same successful self-reliance programs in other African countries that faced atrocities of conflict minerals and genocide. Our foundation raises funds primarily through donations received from concerned generous donors who have chosen to stand up against inhumanity.

Description

Hands for Africa was borne out of the aftermath of the Blood Diamond industry in Sierra Leone. We support the hundreds of thousands of children, women and men who have been maimed by machetes or explosive devices. These are individuals who have lost not only their limbs, but oftentimes their livelihoods as farmers or vendors. With the loss of a dignified way to earn a living, often comes a loss of all hope. Hands for Africa's mandate is restoring lost hope to the innocent victims of civil wars in African countries and to develop and implement programs that foster self-reliance by directly engaging the innocent victims and their communities to provide artificial limbs for amputees, wells for clean water, agriculture development, educational scholarships for the innocent victims and their children, Medical and Health benefits, micro-finance loans for trade and housing through community construction.
