Mission Statement

We help adults in western Cook County improve literacy and English skills so they can experience a greater quality of life in family, workplace, and community.

Description

Established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency in 1987, LVWCC provides free customized literacy instruction to adults in suburban Cook County through a network of trained volunteers.

We are a local grassroots initiative driven by neighbors helping one another on a personal level. Many adults who make the decision to return to school lack the basic literacy and academic skills to succeed in the classroom. That's where we can help. Our learners receive private and small group instruction with caring attention and personalized learning plans. At LVWCC, we are literally changing lives.
