Our mission is to build community by partnering with working families, sponsors, and communities to build simple, decent, affordable homes - one home, one family at a time. As part of this goal we endeavor to provide support services that promote successful home purchase and ownership.

Description

Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical, Christian housing organization. We work in partnership with people in need to build decent, affordable housing. Our vision is that no one in the Greater Albuquerque area will live in substandard housing. Since 1987, we have built more than 177 homes in the Albuquerque area, all of which we could not have done without the generosity of hundreds of volunteers every year. Volunteers are needed to help with everything from construction to office to ReStore assignments.

Volunteering at Albuquerque's Habitat for Humanity has not only been so much fun but has been life changing. I use to be really shy and now I really enjoy talking to people. The staff at Habitat are some of the friendliest people you will meet. I will never forget the experiences I had with Habitat. Hopefully I will be volunteering here for many years to come!

We as people need to help eachother. We are to work together not against eachother. Obtaining help from everyone does everyone some good and it feels good. I would recommend this to a friend because as we work together we can come together to help others who need assistance.

Incredible group of people. They were so nice and accommodating, constantly checking on me and my son to see if we were okay, needed a break, needed food or water. Other than being a great cause the people were truly amazing. We had a great time and definitely look forward to volunteering again.
