Mission Statement

About Sustainable Silicon Valley (SSV): SSV is a nonprofit organization begun in 2000 that is leading Silicon Valley to a more sustainable future through collaboration with businesses, government agencies, and community organizations to identify and address the highest-priority environmental issues. We do this by creating opportunities for collaboration and innovation and building the capacity for leadership in sustainability and through pilot projects for solution implementation to achieve the vision of a sustainable region, a thriving economy, a healthy environment and socially equitable community.

Who we are:

Organized in 2000 and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 2004, SSV's 120+ partners are innovators from all sectors who are creating a nationally recognized model for regional collaboration on sustainability and accomplishing breakthrough results for environmental, economic and social resilience. The EcoCloud(tm) Innovation Platform, created in conjunction with public and private sector partners, is SSV's vision of industrial ecology put into practice in Silicon Valley. A great place to work, friendly and motivating colleagues. If you believe in the cause, there is a lot to know, learn and contribute.

Volunteering at Sustainable Silicon Valley (SSV) has given me a great opportunity to meet people of all skill levels who are interested in offering their services while they are in transistion to demonstrate their willingness to create solutions to make our world a sustainable planet. I have learned a lot at SSV and the staff and volunteers have been very supportive.

SSV is a great place to gain current career experience and skills which is helpful when you are job searching. It also offers tremendous potential for those looking to transition to a green/clean tech career. The work environment is very supportive and and everyone there is helpful and friendly. All in all it is a great, fun place to volunteer!
