I was briefly given a volunteer orientation around the center by Brenda and then assigned me to the wonderful people who work under organization. Volunteered for the closing reception of Michael Sharpe's "Earth, Wind & Sanctuary" and the unveiling of the art installation: "Detroit's Music, Jazz!", for which I felt privileged on volunteering for the entirety of both events, and not to leave out working with people under this lovely organization! I experienced, first hand, Detroit's culture in the heart of it all leaving me astonished and feeling welcomed, as someone who just moved to Michigan from New York, thanks to the Carr Center! Would volunteer again!
