Our History
Thirteen diverse, social action non-profit organizations in Iowa that were ineligible to join United Way, partnered in 1992 to establish Iowa Shares, an equal-opportunity alternative fund serving all Iowans.
Our Values
Iowa Shares:
- Seeks to provide our donors with a choice in workplace giving
- Embraces local control by being a member-directed, cooperative organization
- Provides a community connection between employers and Iowa charities
- Serves as a networking platform for like-minded, socially responsible people and organizations
Mission Statement
Iowa Shares is a statewide coalition of social action, environmental, cultural, and animal welfare nonprofit organizations raising funds though workplace giving. Iowa Shares members give direct services and create progressive, long-lasting resources for our children and communities.
