Description

The Museum for African Art values the assistance of its volunteers. The museum provides its volunteers with: -Interesting public service opportunities. - Opportunities to promote an appreciation of African art and culture. -Professional orientation and training. - Meaningful and crucial tasks to be done. -Diverse community service opportunities. - Volunteer benefits. The museum asks that all of its volunteers: 1. Participate in a prescribed training program. 2. Follow at least one docent-guided tour. 3. Choose an assignment that corresponds to their interests, abilities, and time schedule. 4.Establish and maintain a regular schedule. 5. Notify the Volunteer Coordinator in the event that they are unable to fulfill a given assignment. 6. Enjoy themselves and offer new ideas as to how we may improve the volunteer program at the museum. 7. Schedule a brief interview with the Volunteer Coordinator.
