Franklin County Recreation Program
The purpose of the Recreation Program is to provide leisure time and socialization opportunities, and to help participants learn to use free time independently. Activities include the Tuesday Night Recreation Gala, Friday dances and Saturday bowling, as well as an expanding number of community-based activities provided throughout the week.
For all who enjoy activities with the Recreation Program, the goal is to provide participants the opportunity to be involved in meaningful activities that help to develop friendships, promote self-esteem and create an opportunity for learning.
Mission Statement
The Franklin County Recreation Program will strive to:
- Provide unique, well-planned, community-based activities with a purpose.
- Focus on the interests and dreams of participants to ensure that activities are person-centered.
- Expand recreational opportunities by utilizing community volunteers.
- Develop relationships with corporate, service, educational, and recreational organizations in the community.
