Mission Statement

The mission of PRO-ACT is to mobilize, educate and advocate for positive change so that stigma and discrimination for alcoholism and drug addiction end and to ensure hope, health and justice for those affected by this disease.

Description

PRO-ACT is Philadelphia and the surrounding area's home for Peer to Peer recovery support services. PRO-ACT is a volunteer operated program, the instrumental tools vital to the success of the organization. As a volunteer, you may support the program in administration, committees, recovery coaching, facilitation, facility operations community events or special events.

Some services that PRCC/PRO-ACT has to offer are:

Peer-facilitated Recovery Support Meetings/Groups (for a list look at the Calendars, don't forget 3 rd Street)

Education, Career Planning and Resources Identification

Recovery Coaching or Mentoring

24/hr Information and Referral (800-221-6333)

Gender-Specific Support Groups

Volunteer Training Opportunities

Life Skills

Family Education Program

Alcohol and Drug Free Social Events

Important requirements of the volunteer program include:

You must be at least 16 years of age or older.

Complete a background check.

Supply three reputable references.

Volunteering a minimum of two hours per month.

Remaining active for at least one year.

Being knowledgeable of and adhering to all PRO-ACT policies and procedures.
