An ombudsman is a specially trained and certified volunteer who has authority under Florida law to identify, investigate and resolve complaints made by, or on behalf of, long-term care facility residents.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Florida Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program is to protect the health, safety, welfare and civil rights of long-term care residents by investigating and resolving complaints, promoting the enforcement of laws and regulations, and advising and recommending policy to state and federal governments on long-term care issues.
