Mission Statement

Drawchange is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering children from lower socioeconomic situations through the use of art therapy-based programming. Our programs teach coping skills that foster Collaboration, Creation, Dream-building, Empowerment, Imagination, Self-Esteem, and Stress-Relief.

Description

Our vision is to provide the tools neccesary so each child has the ability to fully express themselves.

Art is a vehicle to reach out to students. Engaging them with art enriches their study with all other curriculum subjects. Our strategy is aimed to spark the energy of world peace by igniting the passion of learning in the world’s children.

In using the research based principles of integrating the arts in the general curriculum, we hope to increase self-esteem and thinking skills in children to help them become better world citizens. Wherever there is a need, drawchange wants to be there providing art supplies.

The drawchange foundation positively changes the lives of at-risk children by using art to help them dream big, think creatively, learn to work together as a team, and enhance their problem solving skills. It's an incredible organization, led by an incredible founder: Jennie Lobato. She tirelessly works to make volunteers and children feel WONDERFUL. In one art session, the children forget about their worries and their faces light up as Jennie walks them through the art project. She's incredible with kids and uses art to build their trust and get them engaged. As a volunteer, the drawchange foundation has changed my life to become a much more rounded, kinder person. THANK YOU!

I've been with Drawchange for about a month and I really enjoy the experience of volunteering for them. They're very responsive to help you with getting the tasks done and there's a good amount of work to get a great learning experience. Jennie does a really good job making this volunteer position worthwhile.

I have been with drawchange for about five months now, and it is really a great organization if you are interested in volunteering to help better the lives of children in need. Jennie is an absolutely amazing person to work with. She is always clear and prompt in her responses to my questions regarding our projects. This is a wonderful virtual opportunity to help supply art to impoverished children around the globe.

I have been volunteering with DrawChange for a little over 2 months now and I absolutely love it. All the projects (whether big or small) has been exactly what I was looking for and have been able to utilize my technology skills for their website. Thanks so much Jennie!

I've been volunteering for drawchange for almost three weeks now, and so far it's been a great experience. Jennie (the founder + CEO) is a wonderful person to work with-- intelligent, friendly, and always willing to help me out with my questions whenever I have them. Regardless of the specific tasks I'm working on for drawchange, Jennie always emphasizes how important it is that they are completed to allow the organization to focus on its goal: providing art to kids who need it most. It's this that makes me feel like an integral part of drawchange & that I'm helping them make a difference, however small my part may be.
