Mission Statement
The mission of the Chattanooga Area Food Bank is to lead a network of partners in eliminating hunger and promoting better nutrition in our region.
Description
The Chattanooga Area Food Bank (CAFB) healthfully nourishes the poor and hungry throughout a 20-county service area including rural Tennessee, Bradley and Hamilton counties and Northwest Georgia.
Through a network of over 300 community partners and generous donations of money, time and resources the CAFB supports those in need until hunger is eliminated, their mission is accomplished, and the CAFB is no longer needed.
The CAFB programs provide 12.7 million pounds of food annually to 160,000 clients who live below the poverty line. Much of the food comes from the donations of retailers, manufacturers, and local farmers. As a member of Feeding America, the national umbrella organization of food banks and the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief organization, the CAFB can further leverage their dollars to get more food for less - a savings that is passed along to agency partners.
