Mission Statement

The Houston Area Women's Center helps individuals affected by domestic and sexual violence in their efforts to move their lives forward. We provide shelter, counseling and advocacy to support them in building lives free from the effects of violence. We seek social change to end domestic and sexual violence through community awareness and education. Our services are confidential and available to everyone.

I want to commend your staff, and congratulate them for doing such a fine and informative job. I especially want to commend Ms Anna Gonzales for making my day a good one. Ms Gonzales encourage me to don't give in and keep doing what I am doing to cope with the situation that I am presently dealing with. That's what caring and shaing is all about. That's another reason for me giving back to the Women in trouble and just letting them know that they can be heard and we care a great deal. Thanks Hawc and keep doing great things.
