Description

Fortress Academy for Youth Empowerment (FAYE) was formed for the sole purpose of preventing juvenile delinquency and positively redirecting young males living in Southern communities away from the corrections systems. We will focus our attention on young males between the ages of 12 and 18, identified in the school districts and the court system, who do not appear to have a structured study program or who might be a latchkey child with little supervision after school and during school summer break. FAYE will address the need of the southern sector of Dallas for a "home-spun" program that will involve the core elements of its community including schools, businesses and government.

This program seeks to:

  • Redirect the young men by involving them in activities that encourage them to view themselves as a vital part of their family and community.
  • Increase the number of young males that graduate from High School and enroll in higher education.
  • Decrease the numbers of males involved in crime, gang activity and early parenting.
