Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association (CATRA)
CATRA is a horse farm in Grantville, PA, where special needs children and adults ride horses for therapy and recreation. We believe in pet therapy, as well, so we have many animals besides horses, including dogs, cats, donkeys, mules, goats, miniature horses, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens, and a pig. The farm is run by volunteers. Social opportunities for rider families and volunteers include horse shows, 4-H, picnic, Valentine party, bowling party, holiday party, and organization fundraisers CATRA-Thon and the "Miles for Smiles" Motorcyle Ride.
CATRA's mission is to provide therapeutic horseback riding therapy to Central Pennsylvania special-needs residents of all ages and disabilities regardless of their ability to pay. We resolve to provide these services solely by volunteers.
