GCPW has a twenty-five year history of presenting original theater works at its resident theater in San Francisco's Civic Center and abroad at international performing arts festivals including; Sao Paulo, Brazil's Festival International Scenic Arts, (FICA) Festival in 1997, The Bitef Festival in the former Yugoslavia, Tokyo at The Intercommunication Center (ICC) in 1994, Poland in 1987. In the US: The Kennedy Center Opera House (1987), The Brooklyn Academy of Music's Next Wave festival(1982), The Walker Art Center(1981), and most recently in New York City at Performance Space 122 (2001).
Mission Statement
In an effort to broaden the range of expression possible in live theater, GCPW fosters the creative collision of diverse art forms and emerging technologies drawn from the bay area's rich mix of industries and cultures.
