Description

Quiet Waters Outreach (QWO) is an innovative non-profit organization that strives to recognize and respond to the specific needs of individuals with developmental disabilities (DD) in the Portland-metro area, their families and caregivers. The participants, called "Treasures", include individuals with a wide variety of developmental disabilities, ethnic backgrounds, financial statuses, ages, living situations (i.e., group homes, private homes, or supported living arrangements) and mixed religious backgrounds. Currently we are providing three restorative services: (1) Respite Care -- Martha's Place is Oregon's only Bed and Breakfast providing overnight respite care to individuals with DD allowing their caregivers a break from their caring responsibilities and providing social recreational day programs; (2)Treasure Nights (monthly activity nights for individuals with DD), and (3) Family Support Network (one-on-one assessment and satisfaction of unmet needs of individual families).
