Success By 6 is an all-new way of helping children succeed in life. The initiative brings together the entire community - parents, neighborhood groups, non-profit organizations, corporations and government agencies - to ensure that children are born healthy and ready to learn by the time they enter school. Cities across the country have Success By 6 initiatives in their communities, each one different, but all focused on improving the health and school-readiness of kids. In Baltimore, Success By 6 is developing new programs, and building on existing ones, that give parents access to everything from child care to safe housing to early learning opportunities for their children. The initiative targets families with children under age 6 in the following neighborhoods: Historic East Baltimore North; Historic East Baltimore South; Sandtown-Winchester/Harlem Park; Mondawmin/Penn-North; Southwestern Consortium; Park Heights; and Druid Heights/Upton/Reservoir Hill.
