The Sunshine Division is a non-profit organization and has been providing emergency services since 1923. The Divison helps year-round with food, clothing, and household items. The Division packs and distributes over 4,000 holiday food boxes for families in Portland every December.
Mission Statement
The Sunshine Divison, in concert with the Portland Police Bureau, operates year-round: 1. To provide temporary relief for essential food, clothing, and small household items to qualified individuals and families within the City of Portland consistent with those areas served by the Portland Police Bureau. 2. To support selected projects consistent with the philosophies of community policing as resources are available. 3. To promote, accept, manage and distribute donations to the Division, while continuing the tradition of treating all clients with dignity and understanding.
