the sunset park is a great place to voluenteer. i am an african america male and the area is mostly hispanic and i had a great expirence. everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming. i was even learning how to speak spanish. the director jesus is a very cool guy. and i dont understand why the 1st review felt like he was racist bc having converstions with the director he is clearly aware of his african heritage.

I would recommend helping there. I just wouldn't voulnteer working there. Because I recently worked there and i was discriminated against my the director there. Because of the color of my skin and the content of my Character, Jesus the director made false allagation upon me in order to be rid of me. When i confront him of these accusations, He laughed and made up new accusations to go along with the old ones. I want to make my message clear. The Salvation Army in Sunset Park Brooklyn is a wonderful place: If you are not African American. It is a hispanic neighborhood and since the director is Hispanic which his name is Jesus. It would be a problem. As before. I don't recommend that you not work or volunteer if you are African American. Because there are no African American employees because the director discriminates by making up accusations and denies ever bringing them up.
