Lhasa Happy Homes is looking for individuals who are interested in providing a temporary home for small dogs (under 20 lbs) to help us save more lives. Fostering a dog is one of the greatest gifts you can offer a rescue group, because it enables us to pull more dogs out of the shelter. We pay for all medical, grooming, food (if requested) -- you provide a roof over their heads, love and whatever training you can offer the dogs. We work with our fosters to give them dogs within their abilities. We are located on the Westside of Los Angeles and do our events in Century Ctiy weekly on Sunday. Fosters are the nucleus of a rescue group and we look forward to welcoming you into our wonderful family of volunteers and fosters!

Temporary housing and caring for SMALL BREED DOGS: Shih Tzu, Maltese, Lhasa and other small, hypoallergenic dogs under 20 lbs. Foster parents treat the dogs as if they were their own; feeding, supervising, evaluating, medicating (where necessary) training (if you have the skills) and caring for the animal for the time that they spend in your home. LHH will take care of all the expenses... Fosters are responsible for transportation to the event site weekly. (This requirement is flexible based on your situation). Fosters are desperately needed, but we are not looking for people who are interested in "trying out" dogs for adoption, although it can be a good way to see if you are ready for a dog...or even a second dog! You can adopt from Lhasa Happy Homes...but not one of your first three fosters. If you are interested in adopting, please do! We try to match a foster dog that will best fit with your home situation ... so that we make it as easy as possible for our fosters! We are looking for fosters who live within close enough proximity to our adoption events to bring the dogs to adoptions on Sundays in West Los Angeles, CA 90064. We do have volunteers who travel all the way from Orange County...so it's up to you!! We do try to carpool whenever possible!

One of our foster facilities in West LA needs dog walkers. We have 7-10 small rescue dogs (under 20 lbs) cared for at Urban Dog, and they would love to go for walks daily! Have a great time playing with and walking the dogs and getting an extra abundance of unconditional love! Lhasa Happy Homes Rescue is a non profit organization that specializes in rescuing Lhasa Apso, Shih Tzu, Maltese and other small breed dogs. We are looking for people who would like to volunteer at our adoption events, held every Sunday in front of Rover Kennels in Santa Monica. We need Adoption Counselors, who talk to and screen potential adopters; and we need general volunteers who can come to adoptions, help us set up, tear down, walk and play with the dogs during the day 11am-2:30pm. You do not need prior experience, although dog experience is helpful! We will teach you what you need to know!
