Pathways is a not-for-profit, community based organization that has been serving the Bay Area since 1977. We provide the highest standards of care to our patients in the comfort of their homes and provide support services to patients' families. Serving 5 Bay Area Counties!

I think the fact that I have been volunteering for Pathways for the past 17 years speaks for itself. It has been the most rewarding and meaningful experience. The staff are all so supportive and considerate of my needs as well as those of our patients and their families. I can take breaks as needed between assignments which I appreciate. Working with the dying is a powerful and divine encounter. Even small contributions of support with a caring attitude can make a big difference to a grieving family.

Providing companionship for the dying and support for their families is very rewarding. And Pathways provides training and a high level of support for its volunteers, including us as partners in care.

I absolutely recommend Pathways Hospice to people, in fact I have recommended it. The people at Pathways are terrific, the work - if you are comfortable working with terminal people and their families - is very satisfying. People appreciate having someone who cares about them. And some of these clients are lonely. Pathways is a not-for-profit hospice which, in my experience, makes the environment not rushed and really client-oriented. I fully recommend Pathways with no reservations.

Volunteering is very rewarding. Pathways supports your efforts by providing thorough training and support. They are available for any questions you may have. They also have regular volunteer meetings for additional networking and continuous education. I've also received wonderful feedback from families about the high quality of service/support they received from Pathways during their difficult time. If you want to volunteer, I highly recommend Pathways.

Pathways has wonderful staff. They are well organized and provide training and support to their volunteers. They always check that things are going well and want to make sure that it is a positive experience for the volunteer and the client.

I highly recommend Pathways as a place to volunteer. They recognize that while their volunteers are truly motivated to do hospice and bereavement volunteering, it can be emotionally draining and sometimes even scary. To address these concerns, Pathways provides comprehensive training, both before you start and on an ongoing basis, and amazing support when you've been assigned to a patient and their family. Overall, volunteering with them has been an enormously rewarding experience.
