As someone who works in the field of higher education, and with experience advising students, I have already recommended StudentMentor to several students. I currently serve as a mentor with the organization, and have become involved in other ways, as well. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for any student, at any college/university, at any stage of education, to seek out and connect with professionals either from the same academic background, or who work in the student's future career field. Through these connections, students gain industry insight, personal and professional advice, and the support network that is so vital to a successful academic path. StudentMentor.org's mission to increase college completion and enhance student career readiness is a worthy a cause. And from a volunteer standpoint, both as a mentor and web developer, I've had a great experience and have had the opportunity to help make a difference.
