I wanted to support this effort with the Surry County School System and Dominion and they supported this effort and the first one went so well that we are planning more on site visits! Great staff!!!

I actually got involved with JA as a volunteer, and I had a great experience volunteering with BAT and Hall of Fame. It was so great to see the community coming together to support financial literacy, and I was inspired by how involved everyone was. When I saw a job open up at JA, I jumped at the opportunity. Even now, I still volunteer in the classroom to teach children about financial literacy.

I am interested in becoming a teacher, and this was a great experience for me. I was able to go into the classroom and have a great time with the kids, and the teacher was really helpful. We even taught a few of the concepts together. I really liked that I was able to lead the discussion and then watch how the children used that information to complete the activities and play the games. I taught another class before, too, with a friend of mine. We had a really fun time working with the kids, and I would love to volunteer again.

JA had many opportunities for me to choose from. I got to pick a class that fit my work schedule, and I had a great time working with the students. The staff did a great job training me, and the materials were really easy to use. I also enjoyed participating in the Bowl-a-Thon fundraiser. Keep up the good work, JA!
