FOCAS is primarily a volunteer organization providing programs and activities to help dogs and cats in the County of San Diego animal shelters find good homes. We arrange weekend dog adoption events in San Diego, operate three cat adoption centers; two at PetSmart locations in Point Loma, Encinitas and one at Animal Medical Center in El Cajon. We also hold fund raisers, assist in providing needed veterinary care for these animals by paying some of the costs, and provide paid adoption counselors in each of the San Diego county animal shelters.
Mission Statement
FOCAS exists primarily to encourage a strong adoption and foster program for the cats and dogs in the three animal shelters operated by the County of San Diego Department of Animal Services.
