I love volunteering and fostering at the NACC. The staff are awesome and I get to help with fur babies. I have been volunteering here for over a year now.

I have volunteered off & on for past 5 years and cannot imagine a Shelter or Animal Control facility with more professional, proficient, yet compassionate staff working together with talented, animal loving volunteers who are up to date on the right strategies to socialize, exercise, and groom a diversity of feathers, scales, & fur while maintaining a healthy environment to prep these pets for their new homes. Their thorough adoption selection process includes a meet & greet with all family members and pets to assure a nice fit for the newest family fur member. No matter how much or little time you give as a volunteer to help the animals at NACC you will certainly recieve a heartfelt thank you from a staff member as well as a fuzzy warm feeling in your heart for helping those who cannot speak for themselves... apart from the 'Take ME home today, MeoOws.... and 'Come PLAY with me, wOoOFs!'

The NACC workers and volunteers take pride in caring for the animals in their shelter. We treat each animal as if it were our own. There are many different areas to volunteer in. So, if you want to help in fundraising or events you can do that, if you want to help walk dogs you can do that, if you want to help do adoptions you can do that too. You will feel appreciated as a volunteer at the NACC. I have been a volunteer there for going on 2 years. Some people don't understand volunteer work. I tell people it's about giving and receiving. You give love and assistance and you receive appreciation and love back. It's as simple as that.

The atmosphere is very kind and caring. Everyone there is working hard FOR the animals. I volunteer here on a regular basis and wouldn't change it for anything!
