Compassionate Care Hospice (CCH) is seeking volunteers to offer companionship and support to end of life patients and their families for one to two hours per week. Individuals with skills in alternative healing practices (e.g. musicians, certified pet therapists, are particularly encouraged to join our holistic approach to care. If you would like to help hospice patients indirectly with your administrative talents, CCH is also seeking volunteers to assist with making phone calls to patients and families for support. Compassionate Care Hospice seeks Veterans of the armed forces and their spouses to become volunteers to provide companionship to our hospice patients who are also Veterans. Give the care only a Veteran can provide. We offer a free, specialized training program, focusing on Veterans’ unique needs to prepare you to help care for other Veterans during the end-of-life. Volunteer just 1-2 hours a week or even once a month and make an incredible difference, creating touching moments and lasting memories for our veteran patients and their families. We are currently looking for Volunteers to support our patients in several different areas, Franklin, Needham, Peabody and other locations. These visits will be companionship visits with our patients. What can you do at the visits - watch a tv show together, spend some time talking/reminiscing about their life and family. Collect some historical background information on the patients. Play games - cards, backgammon, checkers, and so on Listen to music. Patients enjoy the time they have with a volunteer.
