Mission Statement

SCC is a 501(c)3 non-profit pet adoption referral organization dedicated to helping animals in SW Washington and greater Portland who are homeless, or about to be homeless, find deserving homes. We are a no-kill organization entirely staffed by dedicated volunteers.

Description

Although we do not have a shelter, we maintain a list of hundreds of pets weekly and provide referrals. If you are interested in adopting and can commit to providing a loving home for the animal's lifetime we have many who would love to be your new companion. Please only apply if you live within the Portland Metro or SW WA/Vancouver areas! You need to be LOCAL located to do this.

Tried to sign up to volunteer but did not get a response after the initial "we'll be in touch" email. It's been 3 months and I've reached out several times, so I'm giving up at this point. I know they are all volunteers at this organization, and understand they are busy, so no judgement, just wanted to let others know about my experience.

I have been a volunteer with this group for almost 17 years now and like any group, they have their ups and downs. Overall, this is a really dedicated bunch of people who all love animals and that's what the focus is; rather it's finding new loving homes, providing food for those who can't always afford it (Seniors and food banks), or hosting adoption events and fundraisers - it's all geared towards helping animals have better lives. Everyone is a volunteer and there is no central shelter (Although if someone has a place they can donate we'd LOVE it!) and everything is done by the volunteers in their own homes with SCC providing medical and supplies. If you're looking for a diverse group and numerous areas within a group to find your nitch, check out SCC at www.sccpets.com and help us help more animals!

This is a very dedicated core of volunteers who are committed to seeing that pets who need new homes get placed in good homes, actively work to see that pets are spayed and neutered and provide emergency medical care for pets who's owners would not otherwise be able to meet their needs. In addition to that, they do a remarkable job in fundraising to support the Animeals program which insures that Seniors and shutins are able to provide food for their pets. I have been made to feel very welcome and valued for each and every thing that I do as a volunteer.
