Mission Statement

The mission of the French Legation Museum is to preserve the heritage of the French Legation of the Republic of Texas and to educate the public about Texas history and culture.

Description

The French Legation is a house museum in the oldest frame structure in Austin, Tx. We conduct tours of the house and kitchen and sponsor programs for school children to learn about Texas during the Republic period.

I volunteered with Story Time and Evening Under the Oaks! The staff is friendly and was very welcoming. The beautiful grounds make any volunteer experience a unique one!
