20th Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program

Children need a voice in court, in the community and within the child welfare system. Guardians provide that voice--making a difference in children's lives every day!

The Florida Guardian ad Litem Program has a goal to provide a GAL volunteer for every child who needs one at the earliest possible time in an abuse, abandonment or neglect proceeding. The Program is committed to providing high quality, proactive advocacy through highly trained, staff supported volunteers who often are the only consistent voice for the child's best interests.

Mission Statement

The Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Program supports volunteers who speak up for the best interests of abused and neglected children in court, and advocate for their needs within the child welfare system and the community. Each volunteer represents the child until they reach a safe, permanent, nurturing home.
