The Salvation Army - Nashville Area Command



A private, faith-based, nonprofit provider of essential human services -- food, clothing, shelter, counsel, child care -- and the seasonal Angel Tree program. The Nashville Salvation Army also provides the Red Shield Family Initiative (RSFI), a unique social services mall -- opened July 2000 -- where over twenty (20) public and private social service agencies are collaboratively embracing and escorting an impoverished neighborhood of families through welfare reform. There are also four Salvation Army worship/service centers in Nashville.

Mission Statement

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Would you recommend The Salvation Army - Nashville Area Command?

I volunteered with the Angel Tree booth at Rivergate Mall. That experience was so wonderful. I even had help from my daughter, sister and niece. They enjoyed it also. Can't wait to do it again this year.
