Mission Statement

The Mattahunt Club Misssion reflects the BGCB commitment to high quality youth programming and the Mattahunt Elementary School commitment to providing our students with a safe and supportive enviornment to which to learn and have fun. What makes the Mattahunt Club special is our shared dedication to helping all mattahunt Club members become leaders, active learners and kind helpers. We do thid through strong partnerships with the school, teachers , true leadership opprotunities within the club (lacrosse, Boys & Girls Club Of America, Girls Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts, Tufts Uniiversity of Nutrition , etc), and the creation of a positive learning enviornment.

Description

The Mattahunt Club is a school based Boys & Girls Club program located at the Mattahunt elementary School in Mattapan, Massachusetts. The Mattahunt Club has been running since 2001. The mattahunt Club hrs are 1:00-6:00 pm Monday - Friday, (we follow the Boston Public Schools schedule as far as when program is open and closed. The Mattahunt members schedule in cludes Power Hour (Homework Time), Gym, swimming, Torch Club (BGCA), arts, H.E.A.T ( Healthy Eating And Nutrition), Science (Urban ecology), Social Recreation, and technology.
