The Urban/Hip-Hop culture needs to be transformed with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The message being heard in urban societies is one of lust, greed and pride. People are getting trapped into destructive mentalities and lifestyles due to influences of the culture. Like missionaries abroad, City Takers speak the language and have an understanding of the culture. City Takers is presenting the Gospel in culturally relevant ways. City Takers hosts a weekly hip-hop radio show on Victory 91.5 FM and hosts a monthly hip-hop service in Atlanta. The ministry also has a heart for those who are marginalized by society. Using hip-hop music as a platform, urban missionaries enter areas where people are hopeless, hurting and lost by serving on the streets and in homeless shelters, jails, prisons, youth detention centers and rehab facilities. We disciple those who serve with us and attend our events in order to be able to reach more of our city and other cities for Jesus! City Takers has weekly bible studies called "Cell Blocks: Locking In To God’s Word" as well as leadership and artist training. We are teaching people how they can be in the culture but not of it and encourage them to take the church outside the building and live out the Great Commission.
