The place needs better organized, it needs people who are truly willing to help their clients, rather than just warehousing them to collect government funding. I've been been there more than once, and when I did finally manage to leave it was on my own without their help. They try to help but they need better qualified staff in my opoinion.

I volunteered at the women's shelter on Apple St. for several years, working at the front desk. Eventually I decided that I may like to volunteer at the men's shelter instead. I worked at the front desk, answering phone calls, listening to the men's stories, getting their medication and mail for them. There is always something going on, and the list of characters would make a wonderful TV cast. The men's shelter is very much in need of front desk volunteers. The only reason I no longer volunteer there is because I now work there.
